SLSO provides health and medical care within

Advanced healthcare in the home (ASIH) provides the patient with the possibility of qualified care in the home environment. This is an optional alternative to hospital healthcare. This service is provided from Långbro Park, Nacka, Handen’s and Jakobsberg’s local hospitals as well as Solna-Sundbyberg.

Geriatrics specialises in aging and related illnesses. Our geriatric clinics work with research, treatment and rehabilitation as well as preventive and nursing efforts. There are several treatment alternatives including nursing homes, specialist clinics and advanced healthcare in the home.

The service is located at Danderyd Geriatric Center, Jakobsberg Geriatric Center, Stockholm Geriatric Center. Local research and development is carried out in cooperation with municipalities.

Primary care is responsible for health and medical care that does not require hospital care or other specialist resources. Primary care is comprised of health centers, family doctor practices, on-call services, local emergency wards, maternity and childcare, rehabilitation and also children’s hospitals. Primary care is located in all municipalities in the county.

Research and development is carried out within CeFAM (Center for general medicine) in cooperation with Karolinska Institutet and the county council of Stockholm County.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) is a preventive, investigative, diagnostic and therapeutic specialist operation for children and adolescents up to the age of 17. BUP is divided into four geographic operational areas, one operational area for joint county and specialised care and one operational area for clinically affiliated care.

Within those geographic outpatient areas there are four to five outpatient clinics as well as an intermediate care unit. The service is located throughout the county and no special referral is required to seek care within BUP.

The area, evaluation, development and research, is carried out within the unit, Evaluation and Development.

The Center for Dependency Disorders in Stockholm carries out specialised dependency disorder care. The Center for Dependency Disorders offers information, counselling, treatment and support and rehabilitation to people who are dependent or have problems with alcohol, drugs and narcotics throughout the majority of Stockholm County.

The operation is structured in three levels; local clinics that are often integrated with the municipality’s and city district’s addiction care, emergency outpatient and hospital care, highly specialised programs such as Maria Ungdom, methadone operations, treatment for narcotics dependency, programs for women and support for the homeless.
Research and development is carried out by the R&D unit.

Psychiatry is SLSO’s largest care branch and offers a broad selection of psychiatric care with general psychiatric outpatient clinics, psychoses clinics, a number of special clinics, and also hospital care and treatment homes.

There is also a psychiatric country emergency center, a mobile emergency team and care departments for forensic psychiatry.
Psychiatric care is divided into six operations: Psychiatry Northeast, Northern Stockholm Psychiatry, Psychiatry Southwest, Psychiatry Southeast and Psychiatry Southern Stockholm as well as the Psychotherapy Institute, a specialised unit for psychotherapy.

Today, the research, development and education section (FoUU) exists within the majority of psychiatric operations. A number of units carry out local operational research. A joint center for research within psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry and dependency disorder care is being developed in cooperation with Karolinska Institutet.

Disability & Habilitation offers children, young people and adults with extensive functional impairments advice, support and treatment. Support is also offered to relatives and personnel who participate in the day-to-day environment of disabled children, young people and adults. The operation is located throughout the entire county through 24 rehabilitation centers and rehabilitation teams, rehabilitation at five schools, as well as complementary rehabilitation operations for children, young people, adults and their relatives. Two children’s homes and a student home are also included in the operation.

Disability and Habilitation carries out research and development work and also runs several information and knowledge centers, for example, Disability information, which is an information service for all of Stockholm County.

Assistance Stockholm offers resource solutions for the functionally impaired, counselling and education regarding technical assistance tools, as well as rehabilitation for the visually handicapped. The operation is located at Assistance Central South and the Stockholm Sight Center (Långbro Sight Center and the Sabbatsberg Sight Center.)

The interpretation operation’s task is to facilitate communication between people. Interpretation operations exist for the deaf, those with hearing impairments, people who have gone deaf during adulthood, and those who are both blind and deaf. There is also a speech service for those who have speaking, voice or language difficulties. The interpretation operation also offers technical telephone solutions.

CeFAM, the Center for general medicine, works with research, educational and development issues within primary care in the Stockholm County County Council. CeFAM consists of five sub-departments, ”MigraMed”, ”Lifestyle, heart, vascular and diabetes”, ”Clinical research and development”, ”Care development” and also ”Specialist education in general medicine.”
